how to make a rustic pie

rustic pie that we propose with this recipe, a savoury pie, very tasty and full of flavour, ready in no time and is perfect for informal dining in the family, or if you have friends that share your table. In the filling, which we propose is for the real gluttons, but of course you can customize the recipe according to your personal taste, with ingredients that you like. Can be served as a main dish and as an appetizer of slices, the choice is yours! If you are curious to try it then, let’s discover how to make a rustic pie:

the first thing you’ll have to get everything you need to prepare your cake rustic for 8 persons, namely:


  • 2 rolls of puff pastry
  • the

  • 150 g of bacon into strips
  • the

  • 5 potato
  • the

  • 250 g of mixed mushrooms
  • the

  • 80 g of parmesan cheese grattugato
  • the

  • 1000 g of provola cheese cut into cubes
  • the

  • extra-virgin olive oil q. b.
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • the

  • salt q. b.

After you have prepared all the necessary ingredients, begin also to prepare your pie lessando the potatoes in boiling salted water. Then clean the mushrooms carefully and cut into slices, then fry in a pan with olive oil and garlic sizzling, for about five minutes, then season with salt and add the chopped parsley and let cool. When the potatoes are just warm, not to burn yourself, dip them in the potato masher, collecting them in a bowl and season with the salt, the grated parmesan, the egg, the bacon and the mushrooms and mix everything well. Now covered a mould with a disc of puff pastry and pour in all’ within the mixture, freshly prepared, by adding to the surface also the scamorza cheese, cut into cubes. Now cover the rustic pie with another disk of pastry left over, sealed the edges, joining them and brush the focaccia with a beaten egg. Now with a fork, prick the entire surface of the cake and bake in the oven at 180°C for 40 minutes, then let cool before serving.
