Propyl (propiltiouracila) is indicated for the clinical treatment of hyperthyroidism. You can
also be used to improve hyperthyroidism in preparation for thyroidectomy

How to use?

Use in Adults
The initial dose is 1 tablet every 8 hours, up to a total daily dose of 300
mg (3 tablets).

In patients with hyperthyroidism severe, large goiters, or both, the initial dose may
be 2 tablets every 8 hours, up to a total daily dose of 600 mg (6
tablets).

The maintenance dose for most patients is 100 to 200 mg per day, (1-2
tablets) in doses fractionated.

Use in Children
For children 6 to 10 years of age, the initial dose is 50 to 150 mg per day, in doses
fractional.

For children above 10 years, the initial dose is 150 to 300 mg per day in doses
fractional.

Side Effects
