Cilipen is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to ampicillin.
When should I not use?
Cilipen is contraindicated for patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins.
How to use?
Infection of the respiratory system: adults: 250-500 mg every 6 hours; for children 25-50 mg/kg/day in equal doses every 6 to 8 hours. Infection of the gastrointestinal tract: adults-500 mg every 6 hours; for children 50-100 mg/kg/day in equal doses every 6 to 8 hours. Tract infection genitourinary: adults-500 mg every 6 hours; for children 50-100 mg/kg/day in equal doses every 6 to 8 hours. Bacterial meningitis: adults 8 to 14 g every 24 hours; for children, 100 and 200 mg/kg/day. May be required higher doses for severe infections. The recommended doses for children are intended for those whose weight does not result in higher doses than for adults. Smaller Doses than those recommended above should not be used. In severe infections treatment may have to last for several weeks, and even higher doses may be necessary. For reconstitution, add filtered water directly into the jar, gradually, stirring until the suspension is homogeneous.
